Three eventful and great days come to an end. The SAP® SMB Summit was held in Palma de Mallorca from February 19, 2020 to February 21, 2020. It is the largest SMB event, exclusively for partners, hosted by SAP®. The development and market positioning of the products SAP® Business ByDesign® and SAP® Business One were the focus of this event. Especially noteworthy is the clear positioning of SAP® Business ByDesign® in the public cloud sector of SAP®. The Multi-Component Suite S4/HANA® is aimed with a special focus on “Larger” customers with well over 500k EUR subscription (and also >1M EUR subscription). For lower volume customers SAP® Business ByDesign® will be SAP®’s answer to the public cloud question. Of course the exception proves the rule. Both products are quite able to be scaled in both directions.
In addition to the general topics, SAP® dealt with many small and large changes to the products in various sessions. For example, new interface designs, license models, localization options and much more were presented. As one of the most important innovations is the SAP® Business Application Factory. On the basis of this new platform, technical extensions and process models for SAP® Business ByDesign® and SAP® Business One (as well as for other SAP® products) will be implemented in the future. This sends a clear signal from SAP® how important the future cooperation between the partners of both products will be.
In addition to all the exciting presentations and interesting discussions with other partners, there was no shortage of fun. Our colleagues from becomeCloud took part in the hackathon of the SMB Summit with great pleasure and were able to reach the finals in which we – unfortunately, but also rightly – give the victory to another partner. At this point: congratulations to your great app! A successful evening event in a beautiful location in down town of Palma rounded off the experience.
